What Is DeGuilds?

DeGuilds is where crypto communities run token-gated guilds in World of Warcraft: Forever. A Guild Master ties a guild to their community's token. Only wallets holding the required amount can join, and if a member sells below it, officers are alerted automatically on the GM Dashboard, and in Discord if the guild has a server.

What DeGuilds is not

  • It does nothing inside the game. DeGuilds never connects to the game, installs an add-on, automates anything or touches your characters. Guild Masters invite and remove players themselves with the normal in-game commands.
  • It isn't pay-to-play. DeGuilds doesn't sell guild invites, ranks, characters, gold, items, boosts or any in-game service, and it never charges you to use the site. A guild's token is the community's own, and it's bought and held on-chain, not paid to DeGuilds or to the guild.
  • It's free. Every feature is free for everyone, with no paid plans, premium tiers or ads: reserving, creating, joining, the GM Dashboard, the Armory and Guild Banks.
  • It gives no in-game advantage. Holding a token doesn't change anything about how you play: no stats, no loot, no progress, no rewards for raids, dungeons, logins or achievements.
  • It doesn't lock you in. Joining, leaving and playing work exactly as they always have. You can leave a guild in-game whenever you want, join another one, sell your tokens or stop using DeGuilds, and nothing happens to your account or characters.
  • It's read-only about the game. Character, guild and realm data comes from Blizzard's public Battle.net API with your permission, and it's what makes token-gated guilds work: proving which characters are really yours, who actually runs a guild, which realm and faction it's on, and who's on its roster. DeGuilds pairs that with on-chain balances so a guild can recruit its holders and keep its roster honest. Reading is all it does: nothing is ever written back to the game.

In short: DeGuilds is a website where crypto communities organize. The members it helps gather then play the game normally, under Blizzard's rules, like any other guild.
